Alpine luddites is a company of one. I design, build and sell every item that leaves the shop here in Colorado. I specialize in custom packs and bike bags. Appalachian Gear Company produces the first ever lightweight Outdoor Lifestyle garments and gear made from 100% Alpaca Fiber. We make our Patent Pending All-Paca® products in North Carolina.
When we introduced All-Paca® Shirts, Fleece Hoodies, and Beanies in 2018, it represented completely new class of performance fabric crafted from 100% Alpaca Fiber without the use of synthetics. Over-use of synthetic fibers in garments has led to an emerging issue of micro-plastics in the environment, and we felt the time was right to highlight the benefits of Alpaca – Nature’s best performance fiber. Our Patent Pending lightweight All-Paca® Jersey & Fleece Fabrics are engineered by nature, designed for the trail, and manufactured with an environmentally-responsible process.
A brand of American Outdoor Products, Backpacker’s Pantry is one of the world’s foremost producers of freeze-dried meals. Our facility is in the amazing town of Boulder Colorado. We have been here for over 25 years and still love it as much as the day we moved here from Northern California. We have built our own facility on land we own. We have made it as tight as we can, meaning R20 walls and a R40 ceiling to keep the building warm in the winter and cooler in the summer. We have installed in floor radiant heat because it uses so much less energy to heat our facility. We have also installed air conditioning systems that use outside air if it is cooler than the air temperature we would like for our indoor environment. We hope to add a large solar array when we can afford to. Currently we use 100% wind power to power the facility. We also recycle and compost at our facility and hope to make our packaging recyclable and/or compostable when it is available in the market. We do have a recycling program for our pouches through Terracycle.
We are a climbing company. We are a family-owned American rope manufacturer with climbing in our DNA. Our roots trace back to the family textile business that began manufacturing in Georgia in 1903. Our modern history began in 1969 when we manufactured the first American-made kernmantle caving rope. We were the first American rope company to make a dynamic climbing rope and ever since those early days we’ve continued to make our trusted ropes even better. After six consecutive generations in textile manufacturing, BlueWater Ropes is THE standard in quality and durability.

Mark Epperson, a world-wise man who loves the mountains, founded Epperson Mountaineering in 1973 in Montana. Mark’s vision back then is the same as it is today; he couldn’t find any other backpacks that satisfied his demanding need for high-quality packs. He believed that by utilizing highest quality materials, artisan craftsmanship, and innovative functional designs he could make great backpacks which he could be proud of. Thus, he ambitiously embarked on an unending quest to create the perfect backpack. Gradually, as word spread about Mark Epperson’s backpacks, local outdoor enthusiasts sought the packs and consumer demand grew so that Mark eventually opened his own retail shop in Libby, Montana where he would make all the packs by hand one by one. As demand outstripped supply, Mark trained artisan pack makers to create Epperson Mountaineering backpacks for local people and consumers from around the world. Today, all Epperson Mountaineering products are still made in U.S.A. by artisan pack makers with the best components such as 1000 denier Cordura, YKK zippers, mil-spec tubular webbing or exclusive Indian/Oval pattern webbing, and reinforced seam-sealed inner compartments to guarantee long-term strength and durability. Honoring Mark’s wishes for everlasting quality, all Epperson Mountaineering products are continuously, individually scrutinized with careful attention to detail and persistent reflection of new ways to improve the ubiquitous backpack and other personal accessory products by Meg Company in California.
Forty Below Ltd was founded in the 1970s, based on the serious need to have effective foot protection in extreme cold environments. The company founder, Bill Lokey of Tacoma, WA, built his first insulated boot covers, called overboots in 1973. Everest model overboot, which became known and trusted in the worldwide mountaineering community. Today, with over 30 years of experience, the Forty Below® line of products continue to be trusted and used on the most challenging of cold weather expeditions. Our goal is to provide functional insulating products for extreme environments. We also make Forty Below® Brand insulated covers for bottles, specialized clothing, and a line of Forty Below® insulated covers for brewing products, as we are also active home brewers since the 1980s. At Outdoor Research®, we built a company from a feeling: the urge to get out. It’s what drives us. We love coming to work every day and inventing ever better solutions to what nature throws our way. But we’re more than just the gear we build. We’re part of a community of friends whose lives are connected by our common need to be outside. Our tribe is devoted to exploring our outdoor passions and challenging ourselves in the mountains, water and deserts of the planet we love so much.
At Princeton Tec, we’ve been pioneering new technologies and building lights since 1975. And yes, you could say it’s been quite a ride. In our pursuit to be the world’s best, we’ve travelled the earth by ocean, by air, by bike and by foot. We’ve consulted great athletes, scaled mountains, traversed the poles, touched the ocean floors and rolled two wheels on every continent. We are constantly inspired by what our ever evolving environments have to offer and the human spirit that challenges us to tackle them. This spirit, our spirit, motivates us to push technology and design, so that we can ensure that you have, not only the best lighting solutions, but solutions where technology is applied and the performance makes sense for how you use them.

Rock Exotica began in a garage 28 years ago. Much has changed since those days of manual production and graph paper designs. However, one thing has stayed the same: Our desire to produce the most innovative technical equipment available. In an age when many companies no longer actually make anything, but rather just promote their brand and sub out the manufacturing, we are an anachronism. We manufacture our gear ourselves, in Utah. We’ve never gone in search of foreign low-cost products upon which to only place our brand, and we never will.
For over 30 years, we here at SealLine [a brand of Cascade Designs] have endeavored to make protective gear to stand up to water, wind, and dirt in challenging outdoor environments. We believe your pursuits shouldn’t be limited by your gear, so we design, test, and build our products to deliver protection you can depend upon. Our legendarily rugged dry bags, dry sacks, packs, duffles, cases and accessories will safeguard your essentials on paddling, camping, hiking, biking or traveling adventures. We believe in making our products well, so we’ve spent years expanding and refining our in-house engineering and manufacturing capabilities, making much of our gear in our own U.S. factory with our own RF welding machines and tools. As adventures and needs have evolved, so too have our capabilities and our products, and we’re proud to still make the best protective gear in the industry.

Stone Glacier is a result of 15 years of solo sheep hunts from the Dall country of Alaska to the unlimited districts of Montana’s Beartooth Wilderness. Minimizing pack and gear weight increases usable load, which in turn extends your range in the backcountry. My quest for ultralight backpacking gear began 15 years ago and has been a slow and organic process of development, testing, and refining. The goal has been straightforward: build the lightest, most durable gear using only the toughest technical materials available. After hundreds of miles of testing on the trail, years of research and design, this goal has been accomplished. Stone Glacier…redefining the capabilities of ultralight. All Stone Glacier packs and accessories are proudly made in the USA. Not only do we manufacture our products in the United States but where applicable we also use materials and components that are Made in the USA. Our Head Quarters shop is located in Bozeman, MT where all Stone Glacier products are assembled, inspected, packaged and shipped by Stone Glacier employees.
Making your time outdoors more enjoyable. In 1971, a fortuitous mix of unemployed engineers, a leaky foam gardening pad, and the dream of a better way to sleep under the stars came together to change how we experience the outdoors forever. As climbers, Jim Lea, Neil Anderson and John Burroughs knew firsthand that long days in the hills were only made longer by a horrible night’s rest, and a better sleeping pad was key to changing that equation. This blend of science and a desire to make the most of every day outdoors created the world’s first self-inflating air mattress, and it continues to be the fuel that drives us today. Today, Therm-a-Rest [a brand of Cascade Designs] remains at the forefront of comfort innovation and quality, with a commitment to building what we make, with our own hands, whenever possible. Between our company-owned manufacturing facilities in Seattle, USA and Cork, Ireland, the vast majority of our sales world-wide come from products that have been built by Therm-a-Rest employees. Another one of our pillars is to use the best materials we can make or source for our finished products. Sometimes this means U.S.A., but we face major challenges since the broader market has driven entire industries from the U.S. This often leaves us without options that meet our quality standards, supply demands, or simply no domestic choices at all. The solution to maintaining our quality then can be a reliance on global sourcing for things we build in Seattle. Thats while youll often see Made in the U.S.A. of U.S. and Imported Materials on our U.S.-manufactured products, providing you transparency into the manufacturing and sourcing of our products in all situations.
Topo Designs strives for contradiction. We are rooted in mountain culture and outdoor living, but love exploring cities and world travel. We look to proven classics for inspiration, yet take advantage of innovative technologies to ensure a timeless look with modern functionality. We are uncomplicated and utilitarian, but with a sense of design and style through simplicity. Our goal is to not have to choose a single path—we want to live on both sides of the fence, where life is always greener.
TUFA Climbing is a collaboration of artists and athletes. Based out of the Pacific Northwest, our designs are inspired by our trials in the mountains and crafted to your specifications.

The Wild Things journey began in 1981, when our two founders Marie Meunier and John Bouchard, accomplished mountaineers, created their own line of lightweight, superior gear out of dissatisfaction with available products. Wild Things grew throughout the ’80s with input from some of the world’s most gifted climbers including Charlie Fowler, Mark Richey, Steve Larson, Dave Nettle, Anne Smith, Mugs Stump, Rick Sylevester, and Dean Potter. By 1990, with the help of these and other climbers, Wild Things had achieved a cult-like following amongst the world’s climbing elite. Wild Things sewn slings, chalk bags, climbing packs, bivy sacks, and high altitude technical clothing were part of nearly every big climb from 1983 to 1990. In the early 2000s, Wild Things’ reputation for uncommon, lightweight, tough gear caught the attention of U.S. Special Forces, and we began making bespoke, made-to-order kits for individual units. Since then, Wild Things has earned a reputation for tough, lightweight technical outerwear, alpine-style backpacks, durable haul–bags, and innovative tactical and military clothing. Our products are currently in the field with every branch of the U.S. Armed Forces and often tailored for mission-specific goals.
