Made in the USA. That’s right: Each 44 Bikes® frame is built right from my shop here in New England. I take tremendous pride in the fact that each one is made by hand in the USA from U.S. sourced materials whenever possible. I don’t choose fly by night operations; only the finest craftsmen are employed for component, material, paint / finishing work. Whenever possible, I spec only OEM’s that make their components in these great 50 states. Your frame is guaranteed for the life of the rider. Rest assured that if something does happen, you’re covered. RIDE each one with pride.
All Aerostich products are hand crafted, and most are individually made one-at-a-time by skilled experts using time-honored sewing techniques. There are no assembly lines. Gear is created from start-to-finish in Duluth Minnesota, inside an old (1905) three floor brick industrial building where we also provide expert fittings, alterations and services. The riding suits, jackets, gloves, bags and pants produced are designed, engineered and assembled to be the best equipment available, and to last for many years, across tens of thousands of miles, through severe weather, and in the most challenging situations.
If you take a look around my site you’ll see a lot of examples of what kind of work I do. I believe in the utility of bikes and the genius of their construction and functioning. In this, I see beauty. I’m following a long tradition of the craft of bike making, borrowing traditional methods of design and construction, and adding to it my own personal take on what it means to make a great bike. Bicycles, to me, represent all that is good and fun and creative in humans. Bikes are healthy and meditative and useful, and they bring out the best of people’s personalities. They help build community and promote environmental awareness, and they can help people explore the world around them in a way that is interactive and participatory. Bicycles make people smile.

Alpine luddites is a company of one. I design, build and sell every item that leaves the shop here in Colorado. I specialize in custom packs and bike bags. A few of my best selling designs have come from customer requests for a custom pack or bag. On custom projects I work one on one with my customer to get them right.

My name is James Bleakley, and I’ve been an avid cyclist since an early age. I grew up in Louisville, Kentucky, and moved to Boulder, Colorado in 1980. Cycling represented the freedom to explore my surroundings. I started Black Sheep Bikes in 1999, as a way to reconnect to my passion for building bikes. It was a chance to apply my skills in precision welding and fabrication to bicycles. In 2008, I won the Best Titanium Bicycle award at the North American Handbuilt Bicycle Show (NAHBS). The next few years brought more recognition at NAHBS, and in 2011 a move from my shop at home to a 1600 SF shop near Old Town in Fort Collins, where I currently build. Every bike is still custom, and built for an Individual, not in standard, or stock sizing. I continue to grow and learn, and teach my trade to people interested in learning to build bicycles.
Founded in Bend, Oregon in 2008, BlackStrap manufactures accessories for skiers, snowboarders, anglers and outdoor enthusiasts. Each BlackStrap facegear product is a true product of the USA with domestically milled fabric, US based cut and sew facilities and is distributed from our headquarters in Bend, Oregon.

For almost 40 years our family has been knitting socks in Northfield, Vermont. We know how to make socks. It’s what we do. We’re dedicated to creating the world’s best socks, and prove it by standing behind them unconditionally. After so many decades why do we still craft every pair of our socks here in Vermont? Born in 2005, the company uses waste that would otherwise end up in landfills, through that they brought used materials back to life as bags, bike bags, and accessories. All of the products in the Green Guru brand started out as something else, it may be a bike tube, a wetsuit, or a billboard. Longbikes has officially been in the business of producing high quality, customized road tandems since 1998. Greg’s experience building beautiful road bikes, however, goes back to the mid 70’s when he started experimenting with road bike design as a hobby. With the sale of his succesful wheelchair business, LaBac, in the 1997, Greg was able to convert a lifetime passion building road bikes from a hobby into a full time business. In addition, within a year, he was able to expand his product line to include long wheel base recumbents through the purchase of Ryan Recumbents. Since then, Longbikes has continued to build custom tandems and has also expanded its recumbent product line to include a short wheel base recumbent and a short wheel base recumbent tandem. Through it all, the focus on quality and innovation has remained their primary mission, and has allowed Longbikes to remain the only producer of both upright and recumbent tandems.
Melanzana is a homegrown outdoor clothing company in the historic mining town of Leadville, Colorado. We are dedicated to designing and building high-performance clothing that is a little different from what you can find in typical outdoor stores. We are small! Twenty employees design, cut, sew and sell everything. We have created a clothing company that operates on a local, low-impact scale, yet produces performance clothes to compete with the big boys. Without cheap foreign labor! When you buy from us, so much more of your money goes to the people who actually make the product. A lot less cash goes to the costs of shipping materials & products around the world and back, or to huge corporate headquarters, secret teams of lawyers, and lame promotional campaigns. Voler Cycling Apparel. Voler was founded in 1986 in San Luis Obispo, California. What began as a small operation producing windsurfing bags and cycling helmet covers quickly morphed into creating top-notch custom cycling apparel for teams, events, and other cycling brands. By 1996 Voler moved to Grover Beach (15 minutes south of SLO) and ramped up production in a much larger facility. We added on to the facility in 1999 and started the Voler online Store (previously Velowear) selling our non-customized branded apparel direct to consumer. It is not by chance that we proudly claim USA Made (The products we carry that are not made in our factory are clearly marked as such on our website). Our commitment to the manufacturing of premium quality cycling apparel at our Grover Beach California factory extends beyond ensuring we produce the finest product possible; it’s about integrity in the way we treat our employees, customers, and the environment.
